Team USA played England to a 0-0 draw on Friday making it the second time the two teams played to draw. The first time that happened was when both USA and England played back in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The result also meant that it was the first time that the U.S. men’s team shut out an opponent from Europe since the 1950 World Cup when they beat England 1-0. The U.S. outshot England 10-8 and had a total of 7 corner kicks in the game to England’s 3.

Weston McKennie nearly had a goal in the first half of the game while mid fielders Sergiño Dest and Christian Pulisic helped create dangerous attacks against England defense and had several chances to score a goal in the second half. The gives The U.S. Men’s Team two points after the match and currently sits behind England and Iran who they play on Tuesday in a must win match if they are to advance to the knockout stage of the World Cup. The last time the two-nation played in a World Cup, Iran beat the U.S. 2-1 in 1998.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
