
Chicago Fire SC defeated St. Louis City SC 2-1 on Tuesday Night in the round of 32 in the tournament. Chicago got to a fast start with a goal in the in the third minute by mid-fielder Maren Haile-Selassie, assisted by Mauricio Pineda. Fabian Herbers scored for the Fire in the 75th minute in the second half to give the team a 2-0. 18 year old and St. Louis Native Miguel Perez scored the loan goal for City SC on the 93rd minute making him the youngest player in the Clubs history to score a goal.
The Fire will move to the next round which they will play against an opponent that will be determinate at a later date. The two will meet again at Soldier Field on May 13th for a Major League Soccer Match. City SC currently sits in second place in the Western Conference while the Fire sits in 14th place in the Eastern Conference.
