St. Louis City SC made a huge statement against Sporting Kansas City 4-0 in the annual Interstate 70 derby Saturday Night at CityPark in downtown St. Louis. An electrifying 22,500 fans behind their newest soccer team made a two-time former Major-League Soccer champion, Sporting Kansas City into an expansion team and coast to their sixth victory of the season. City drew first blood when they Eduard Lowen converted a penalty kick in the 18th minute to give the team a 1-0. Then mid-fielder Indiana Vassilev score the second goal of the match to give City SC a 2-0 off the assist of Jared Stroud lead going into half time.
Stroud picked up another assist when Nicholas Gioacchini scored his 4th goal of the season to give City SC a 3-0. Vassilev scored his second goal and final goal of the match to give his squad a convincing 4-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City.
