City SC loses at home against Real Salt Lake 3-1

Real Salt Lake extended St. Louis City SC winless streak to 4 games after their 3-1 victory Wednesday night at CityPark in Downtown St. Louis. They avenged their loss after getting beat by City SC 4-0 earlier this season in which was the worst loss against an expansion back in March. Diego Luna got things going for the road team when he scored the opening goal of the match in the 15 minute to give his team a 1-0 lead early in the match.

City SC’s Nicholas Gioacchini tied the game 6 minutes later to draw even but Real Salt Lake’s Damir Kreilach score for his team on the 48th minute of the match to give them a 2-1 lead. Kreilach ended City SC’s hopes of a comeback when he scored again in the 66th minutes with a one-touch finish of Andrew Brody’s cross to give Real Salt Lake a 3-1 victory on the road.

City SC’s have been struggling with injuries with their star player Eduard Löwen who was out for the second consecutive match while João Klauss, the team’s top goal-scorer has been out for two months with injuries. The team will visit the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday and aim to break a 4-game winless and stay on top of the Western Conference.
