City SC Ends the First Half of MLS with a 3-0 Victory

Perhaps the Greatest Soccer player of all time Lionel Messi was introduced by fans of over 20,000 in Sunday night in Fort Lauderdale Florida as the newest member of Inter Miami but his team lost Saturday Night against the Western Conference leader St. Louis City SC 3-0 which extends the teams winless streak to 11 games. The game was also the coaching debut of Gerardo Martino who replaced Phil Neville who was let go on June 1st. Martino coached Atlanta United FC to a Major League Soccer title in 2018 he also coached for his home country Argentina and FC Barcelona in the Spanish LaLiga and most recently coached the Mexican National team.

Samuel Adeniran scored his 3rd goal of the season off a pass from Indiana Vassilev on the 28th minute to give St. Louis a 1-0 lead. Tim Parker scored his 3rd goal of the season in the 40th minute of a pass from Aziel Jackson to give team 2-0 going into half-time. The final goal of the match came in the 80th minute when Eduard Löwen scored his 6th goal of the season for City SC. Meanwhile Roman Bürki saved three shots for St. Louis City while his opposition Drake Callender had eight saves for Inter Miami. With the victory City SC extend their record at home with 8 wins 3 losses and 1 draw and sits on top of the Western Conference going into the All-star break in which the MLS All-stars play against Arsenal from English Premier League and the upcoming League Cup which MLS teams play against Liga MX team from Mexico.
