Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has always made his feelings on the Chiefs clear, and on Thursday, he was sure to add “bulletin board” material for the defending Super Bowl Champions.

The Bengals wide receiver started out saying nothing stood out about the Chiefs’ secondary, a sentiment he has shared about other teams. He followed by saying how the Chiefs don’t have a lockdown cornerback like the Miami Dolphins‘ Jalen Ramsey.

Chase added that Kansas City safety Bryan Cook, who is on injured reserve, is not comparable to the Atlanta Falcons‘ Jessie Bates III, who spent the first five years of his career with the Bengals.

When it was expressed that the comments could be perceived as shots at Cincinnati’s AFC rival, Chase seemed to embrace it.

“I’m just adding fire to the fuel,” Chase said. “They’re going to take this, run with it. Hope they put it in their locker.”

“That’s why they double everybody. ‘Cause they can’t do it one on one,” he said.

“It’s not like they’ve got a superstar on their roster,” he added.

Chase also touched on his shoulder injury and said the trainers have essentially cleared him to play, and it is his decision. With how he was talking, it certainly sounds like he will play

Earlier this year, he called the Cleveland Browns “a bunch of elves”, and Cleveland proceeded to beat Cincinnati 24-3 while Denzel Ward held Chase without a catch. Furthermore, Cleveland has clinched a playoff spot while the Bengals might not even make it.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
