In a game that quite literally came down to the final seconds, the Kansas City Chiefs edged out their rival Denver Broncos to remain undefeated on the season.

With one second remaining, Broncos kicker Will Lutz had his potential game-winning field goal blocked at Arrowhead Stadium, as the Chiefs won 16-14.

It has been 322 days since the Chiefs have lost a game.

Leo Chenal broke through Denver’s protection and blocked Lutz‘s kick as time expired to maintain Kansas City’s undefeated season in one of the more memorable ways possible.

“You live for these moments,” Patrick Mahomes said of Chenal’s game-winning block, via team transcript. “When you grow up playing football, you live for the walk-off whatever it is. It’s special when you build (with) these guys for so long and you’ve built this chemistry with them and guys get to make that play. It’s something that I’m sure Leo (Chenal) will have for the rest of his life. I’m just glad that we all get to experience it together.”

Bo Nix went 22-of-30 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Audric Estime had 53 rushing yards on 14 carries, and Sutton had 70 yards and a score on six catches. The Broncos, who have lost back-to-back games, now sit at 5-5 on the year.

Next week, the Chiefs will take on the Buffalo Bills next weekend in New York in what’s sure to be another great matchup between Mahomes and Josh Allen, who has the Bills at 8-2 on the year after a 30-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon.

A lot is at stake at what has become one of the more thrilling rivalries in the NFL.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
