City SC’s comeback fell short as the club lost at home Saturday Night against the visiting Houston Dynamo 3-2. Dynamo Forward Ezequiel Ponce put his team up first in the 20th minute with a header to give them a 1-0 lead. City SC continues to make mistakes, this time an own goal by Henry Kessler that made it 2-0 in the 50th. Then Duane Holmes, who substituted in late for Houston, scored his first goal of the season in the 72nd minute, making it 3-0.
Eduard Löwen got City SC on the board in the 86th minute with his second consecutive goal in two games, then Mykhi Joyner, a 19-year-old homegrown, scored his first goal in MLS to make it 3-2 in the 89th. City SC had chances to tie the game during stoppage time but came short of an equalizer, with Houston earning the 3-2 win. The loss dropped the City SC to 5-17-6, while Houston snapped a six-game winless skid to (8-12-8) and is back in the Western Conference playoff hunt. City continues its homestand as it faces off against FC Dallas at 7:30 pm.
