EPISODE 5 OUT NOW!

The St. Louis Cardinals are teasing us with another late season playoff run, but we should know better than to believe. The team has flaws everywhere on their roster and even if the improbable postseason appearance were to happen, it would likely be a short cameo in October baseball.

So with that expectation, I decided to open up another Q&A to Cardinals Twitter after doing one a couple months ago. That initial Q&A was able to be completed in a written story, but this time, there were even more submissions that prompted more conversation. To help along those conversations, I invited two more members of the Cardinals social media space and was joined on the episode by Nate Schwartz and Tyler Zumwalt.

With their help, I took seven questions that I received on Twitter and we provided our insight on what we think either can or should happen in these scenarios. To get our full discussion, make sure you listen to the episode and please join the conversation and drop your thoughts!

Question 1 from Nate Schwartz: Favorite under-the-radar pitching candidate?

Question 2 from DeWallet Inspector: Which player on the current roster has the highest intersectionality of “fan favorite” and “likely to be traded”?… and why is it Noot?

Question 3 from Creeping Doom: With the impending arrival of JJ Wetherholt, where do you see him playing, and, if a trade is needed to afford him that space, who do you believe gets traded?

Question 4 from Kyle Eden: Not that they’ll play in the FA position market at all, but I saw something this weekend about this year’s free agents being the best group overall for the next few years. Is there anyone you’d like to see them get, or, more realistically, is there anyone you think they will get?

Question 5 from Mark Gram: Concerning Ryan Helsley: do you think his issues may stem from being in New York? There have been players in the past who have had problems playing in NY and LA

Question 6 from Redbird Farmhands: One player past or present you’d like to interview on the podcast

Question 7 from Thomas Gauvain: Best player you played with in college or indy ball

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
