The Kansas City Chiefs have signed defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga to a three-year contract, worth $21 million. The contract includes $14 million guaranteed. Tonga, 29, played 14 games, with 8 starts, 2 pass deflections, and 24 tackles with the New England Patriots in 2025. The starts were a career high for Tonga.

Tonga had his best season in 2022, with the Minnesota Vikings. That season, Tonga played 11 games, with 2 starts, 4 pass deflections, 0.5 sacks, and 28 tackles. The pass deflections, sacks, and tackles were all career highs for Tonga.

In 2021, with the Chicago Bears, Tonga had career highs in both games (15) and fumble recoveries (1).

Overall, Tonga has played 5 NFL seasons. Tonga has played 67 games, with 15 starts, 6 pass deflections, 1 fumble recovery, 0.5 sacks, and 113 tackles.

Tonga should be able to help the Chiefs defensive line. Tonga is a good run-stuffer, which was a need for the Chiefs this offseason.
