It’s not how you start, but it’s how you finish. Harrison Frost came in late in the second quarter to replace Bradon Silver, who struggled moving the offense by throwing an interception an unable to move the offense.  On the first play in the 3rd quarter, Frost’s pass was intercepted by Mario Goodrich for a pick-six 40-yard touchdown.  Birmingham Stallion’s Kicker Jonathan Garibay missed the extra point, but his team took a 16-13 lead. On the third play for the Battlehawks, Frost was picked off again, this time by Cornerback Lukas Denis at the 37-yard line. The Birmingham offense marched for a six-play drive led by running back Anthony McFarland, who scored a one-yard touchdown to give the Stallions a 23-13 lead.

In the 4th quarter, Frost started to get in rhythm with a few completions passes, then he threw a 31-yard pass to Hakeem Butler. Then, two plays later, Frost threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Steven McBride. The Battlehawks trailed the Stallions 23-20. But Stallions quarterback Matt Corral immediately came back as he stepped into a throw and delivered a strike to Deon Cain in stride for a 67-yard touchdown, the Stallions’ longest play of the season, extending Birmingham’s lead back to 30-20.

In the third play, Frost completed to Hakeem Butler for a 64-yard touchdown, and the Battlehawks trailed the Stallions 30-27. After the Battlehawks defend stopped the Stallions’ offense, Frost led a 12-play drive for 75 yards game winning touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Neville, who pushed his way up front before extending his arms to break the goal line for the touchdown to give the Battlehawks 34-30, which they would hang on to score their second win of the season.  

St. Louis’ defense did their part by scoring the first points of the game when quarterback Matt Corral’s pass was intercepted by Jordan Williams for a pick-six 10-yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead. Overall, the Battlehawks’ defense forced 5 turnovers in the game and 1 sack. Frost entered the game after Bradon Silver struggled by throwing for 76 yards and an interception, started with two straight interceptions, but authored the ultimate redemption by throwing three touchdowns and led the Battlehawks to a remarkable comeback victory.

Wide Receiver Hakeem Butler delivered a standout performance with four receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown. The Battlehawks will be on the road to face DC on Saturday as they look to sweep the season series over the Defenders. Kickoff is set for 12:30 PM ET on ABC.
