Alton (IL)  The Alton River Dragons are excited to announce the addition of Andrew Olney as the team’s new pitching coach.  The veteran baseball coach will join returning manager Jarrod Brissenden.

“I want to thank the River Dragons management and Coach Brissenden for the opportunity to lead the pitching staff. I am excited to get to know the community of Alton, River Dragons fans, and help the organization compete for a Prospect League Championship” says Olney.


He has spent the last several years coaching at the scholastic, elite travel and collegiate levels in California. Most recently he was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Napa Valley College.

He has previously owned and operated his own baseball academy.

Prior to coaching, he played two years of college baseball at both Napa Valley College and Schenectady County Community College.

The 2026 River Dragons season begins Tuesday May 26th at Quincy with the home opener slated for Tuesday June 2nd against Dubois County. The 2026 River Dragons will again be led by returning manager   Jarrod Brissenden.  In addition, for a second consecutive season, select games will be carried by 107.1FM WBGZ.

Also back for a fourth consecutive year, is the NCBA World Series, with both the Division I and Division II Tournaments taking place at Lloyd Hopkins Field starting May 15th
