Missed scoring opportunities cost City SC, while Austin FC’s Christian Ramírez and Myrto Uzuni scored second-half goals to give their team a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas. The two teams played to a scoreless draw in the first half. St. Louis had the chance to take the lead in the 56th minute when Marcel Hartel could not complete a pass to Simon Becher with an open net in front of them. As a result, Christian Ramírez took full advantage by breaking through in the 69th minute, heading in a set-piece delivery from the center of the box to give Austin a 1-0 lead.

Then Myrto Uzuni sealed the deal with a goal in the 81st minute off an assist from Ramirez, adding his fourth goal of the season. Following consecutive wins, Austin moved up to 11th in the Western Conference, while St. Louis is on a five-game winless streak in Major League Soccer. The team has struggled to find form, sitting outside the Western Conference playoff positions, and can’t seem to find the rhythm they once had in their first season in 2023, when they finished atop the Western Conference and qualified for the postseason. St. Louis will hit the road again to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, May 9, with kickoff set for 8:30 p.m. CT.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
