The Battlehawks are back in the playoffs with a 21-15 win over the Houston Gamblers. But it wasn’t easy after being down 9-0 in the first half. It was St. Louis that had to gamble the final minute of the second quarter. Being down 9-3, Quarterback Luis Perez completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Hakim Butler, and the PAT from Ahmed Ramiz gave the Battlehawks their first lead of the game, 10-9 on the last play of the half. Houston took the lead back at 15-10 in the third quarter, but St. Louis rallied again and went on to defeat Houston 21-15 at Shell Energy Stadium.

St. Louis’ defense came up big in the game by holding Houston under 300 total yards, limiting the Gamblers to 0-for-3 on fourth down, forcing a pair of fumbles, and recording four sacks. Trey Dean led the way with 5 tackles and 1 sack. On the offensive side, Jarveon Howard led his team in rushing for 55 yards on 14 carries, while Kylin James scored the go-ahead touchdown run for St. Louis/

“We made some mistakes,” Prohel said. “It’s tough to win in this league when you do that. They kept fighting, but we’ve got to get better.”

The Battlehawks will finish the 2026 UFL regular season on Friday against Dallas at The Dome at America’s Center. A victory means a home semifinal game in the semifinals, which will be between determine on the final regular season.
