St. Louis will enter the postseason with many concerns and issues following their final regular-season loss to the Dallas Renegades, 20-16. The offensive line for the Battlehawks yielded 7 sacks against the Renegade defense, while turning the ball over with two interceptions, and only giving up one fumble. The offense produced 330 yards and ran the ball effectively, but the inconsistent Ramiz Ahmed missed a 33-yard field goal that would have given the Battlehawks the lead in the second quarter while they were down 7-6. Overall, the game was close the entire game, with neither team ever leading by more than one score. The Battlehawks took a 19-16 lead with nearly 10 minutes left, but the Renegades jumped ahead with a go-ahead touchdown with under four to go, hanging onto the lead to play spoiler. While Battlehawks quarterback Luis Perez completed 18 of 29 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown, he threw two interceptions in the game.

“I’m disappointed in the loss, you have 4 turnovers in the game, it’s hard to overcome”, said coach Ricky Prohl. ” Well will bounce back because we’re too good a team. We just need to hit the reset button and get back to work.”

The last two seasons, the Battlehawks won their season finale only to lose the two Conference titles against the San Antonio Brahmas and the D.C. Defenders, both at home. This will be the 3rd straight year the team will be playing at home against either the Birmingham Stallions or the Louisville Kings. While St. Louis fans are excited to see their team play in the postseason at home; they’ve left home disappointed in both their losses at home. Hopefully, under Coach Prohl, the Battlehawks can finally get over the hump on Sunday, June 7th.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
