The Cardinals beat the Diamondbacks 3-2 on Monday night at Busch Stadium. Andre Pallente (9-4) pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 run with 2 strikeouts, and 0 walks. The start was Pallante’s (6th) quality start. Overall, the Cardinals now have 29 quality starts. Pallante also now has a new career high in wins.

Alec Burleson (56), Blaze Jordan (8), and Nathan Church (20) all had RBI’s.

Church also picked up his (5th) stolen base and has a run scored and 2 hits. JJ Wetherholt also had 2 hits.

Ryne Stanek (13), JoJo Romero (18), George Soriano (10) all picked up holds.

Riley O’Brien picked up his (19th) save.

The Cardinals are now 42-34.

Game 2 is Tuesday night at 6:45 pm.

The scheduled starting pitchers are Eduardo Rodrgiuez (6-2), 2.45 ERA, 88.1 innings, 65 strikeouts, 35 walks, and a whip of 1.23 vs Kyle Leahy (5-4), 4.63 ERA, 70 innings, 59 strikeouts, 26 walks, and a whip of 1.57.
