As early as April City SC was sitting 14th in the Western Conference standings and it looked like it was heading towards another losing season. On Saturday they extend their record setting unbeaten streak to 16 matches with a convincing 3-1 victory over Toronto FC.

City SC have to climb from 14th place in the Western Conference to 2nd and are now only 5 points behind first place Vancouver. Carlo Holse found the back of the net in the 43rd minute with assists from Totland and Alexandru Mățan to give St. Louis City a 1-0. It was Holse 3rd goal of the season. Then on the 54th minute Tomas Totland extended St. Louis lead to 2-0 with an assist from Alexandru Mățan and Conrad Wallem.

Simon Becher put the nail in the coffin for Toronto when he scored his a career-best eighth goals this season in the 68th minute to give his team a 3-0 lead. St. Louis were hoping for a shutout but Theo Corbeanu scored off a header in the final minute of second-half stoppage time.

St. Louis will hope to extend their unbeaten streak to 17 matches as they go on to play at New York against Red Bulls next Saturday Night and stay in striking distance with Vancouver for first place in the Western Conference standings.
