
Sporting Kansas City gets its revenge over St. Louis City SC 2-1 but most important they kept their playoff hopes alive in the Western Conference. Things started for the visiting St. Louis City when they scored first in the 22nd minute in the first half when forward to Samuel Adeniran score to make it 1-0. Sporting KC held a 1-8-2 record when conceding first this season, but 10 minutes later in the match, Alan Pulido took a nice pass from Daniel Salloi to score the first goal for Sporting KC. Pulido scored the second goal of the match just before halftime when Sporting KC midfielder Jake Davis gained possession and dribbled through multiple City SC defenders before sending the ball back to Pulido who made it 2-0 just before halftime.
City SC started off strong in the second half when Samuel Adeniran scored the game tied goal but was waved off because of an offside penalty. Sporting KC nearly increased the lead to 3-1 but City SC goalie Roman Bürki made gave saving save to keep this team alive. In the end Sporting KC got their revenge after losing to City SC 4-0 earlier in the season. The victory moved Sporting KC to 8-11-8 on the season with 32 points, the club sits in 11th place and just one points out of a playoff spot behind Austin FC while St. Louis still sits on top of the Western Conference 15-11-2 with 47 and six points ahead of the Seattle Sounders. Sporting KC will head to South Beach and play against red hot Inter Miami led by Lionel Messi while St. Louis will travel out west to play the LA Galaxy Sunday night.
