It’s never an easy game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. And of all the wild finishes we’ve seen between these teams, this one might be the most controversial.

The Chiefs scored what could have been the game-winning touchdown at the 1:12 mark of the fourth quarter as Travis Kelce caught a 25-yard pass and then lateraled the ball to Kadarius Toney, who took it the final 24 yards for the score. However, the officials deemed that Toney lined up offsides erasing what would have been a game-altering play.

Boos rang out throughout Arrowhead Stadium, and the Chiefs’ sideline was visibly upset.

Buffalo ultimately made its final stand on defense en route to the win. Patrick Mahomes was 25 of 43 passing for 271 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Rashee Rice caught seven of his team-high 10 targets for 72 yards and a touchdown.

With the loss, the Chiefs fall to 8-5, and while they’re still first in the division, the Denver Broncos are creeping up on them. Meanwhile, for Buffalo, their playoff hopes still survive at 7-6.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
