For the Kansas City Chiefs, everything’s going according to plan.

Sources confirm that the Chiefs have officially placed the franchise tag on star CB L’Jarius Sneed.

The official price tag for the 27-year old is $19,802,000.

Despite the tag, the Chiefs are reportedly “open to consummate a trade” with Sneed. Sources say his camp was “agreeable” should the tag get utilized and a long-term contract not get ironed out.

Sneed, a 2020 fourth-round pick by the Chiefs, just wrapped up the best season of his career. In 16 regular-season games, he recorded 78 tackles, 14 passes defended and two interceptions. He also posted career-high marks in regards to completion percentage (51.0) and passer rating (56.2) surrendered in coverage, playing at an elite level in 2023.
