EPISODE 3 OUT NOW!

The St. Louis Cardinals are pretty much conceding the 2025 playoff run and have finally committed, it seems, to some type of runway for certain players to close out the year. As fans, we never cheer for losses, but with the news that the Cardinals may be draft lottery eligible, I guess it makes it easier to stomach when they lose.

For this episode, I was joined again by two of my favorite online accounts, one of which really got me started in this Cardinals space. Matt Smith of The Redbird Rundown Podcast joins in along with a respected fan in the social media community DeWallet Inspector to discuss the Cardinals’ current roster and future outlook.

The three weigh the pros and cons of the young players getting opportunities this season before setting expectations for the last couple of months. After that, we dove into who the team should build around which ended up being a harder conversation than expected. That led us into extension talks, especially as other teams around the league have been handing out new contracts to players before they have even made their Major League debut.

We finish up with one priority for the Cardinals and Chaim Bloom this offseason as we prepare for 30 or so games of pain and anguish. Come and check out a conversation that is probably similar to the ones a lot of us are having at this point in time!

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
