Nolan Arenado has officially been traded.

The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a trade with the Cardinals for veteran third baseman Nolan Arenado, the both teams announced on Tuesday.

St. Louis will receive 22-year-old right-hander Jack Martinez — an eighth-round pick from the 2025 MLB Draft out of Arizona State — in return. Arizona will also receive cash considerations in the deal.

Arenado hit .237 this past season, a career low. Also, his .666 OPS was the worst mark of his 13-year Major League career by a wide margin.

We are grateful for Nolan’s five years as a Cardinal, on and off the field — for his drive, his competitiveness, and for all of the memories he gave us,” Cardinals president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom said in a statement.

Arenado, arguably a future Hall-of-Famer, is a 10-time Gold Glove winner, a career .282 hitter and has hit 353 homers over 13 seasons with the Cardinals and Rockies.
