Alton (IL) One of the college programs long tied with the Alton River Dragons will again have hefty representation this summer. Four teammates from Webster University have signed on for the 2026 season.
Wes Carter is a junior right-handed pitcher from Hoover, AL who has been at Webster since his freshman year. He is a summer ball veteran having spent the summer of 2024 with Hornell of the New York Collegiate Baseball League appearing in 12 games with a 4.21 ERA and 1.43 WHIP
Ryan Hartz is a sophomore outfielder from Brother Rice High School in Chicago. In high school, along with being a standout in baseball, he was the starting quarterback on the football team but ultimately chose baseball to pursue in college.
Adam Moser is joining Webster for his junior year after previous stops at Eastern Oklahoma State and the University of Texas-Tyler. An outfielder from Boulder, CO, he played at Eastern Oklahoma State in 2022 and 2023, batting .289, with a .432 on-base percentage over 68 games played. As a senior in high school, he was the lone Colorado representative at the prestigious Area Code Games
Ethan Wielt is a junior first baseman from Mt. Vernon, IL embarking on his second season at Webster after two years at Lewis and Clark Community College.
The 2026 River Dragons season begins Tuesday May 26th at Quincy with the home opener slated for Tuesday June 2nd against Dubois County. The 2026 River Dragons will again be led by returning manager Jarrod Brissenden who is actively signing a roster for the upcoming season. Additional player signings will be made public throughout the winter. In addition, the 2026 promotional schedule and special announcements will be coming in the spring. Lloyd Hopkins Field will again host the NCBA DI and DII World Series in May, preceding the River Dragons season.
