The St. Louis Cardinals improved to 3-2 on the season with a 3-0 win over the New York Mets at Busch Stadium on Tuesday night. Starting pitcher Andre Pallante threw 5 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits with 3 strikeouts and 3 walks. The bullpen had another good game back-to-back with 4 scoreless innings. Riley O’Brien pitched the 9th and picked up with 1st save of the season.

On the offensive side, catcher Ivan Herrera had a double with 2 RBI’s (4 on the season). Centerfielder Victor Scott had 2 hits (including a double) and a run scored. Third baseman Ramon Urias hit his 1st home run as a Cardinal.

The next game will be Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 pm with the pitching matchup scheduled to be former Milwaukee Brewer Freddy Peralta vs Matthew Liberatore. Peralta is currently 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA, 5 innings, 7 strikeouts, and a whip of 1.20. Liberatore is currently 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA, 5 innings, 2 strikeouts, 2 walks, and a whip of 1.80.
