The Cardinals beat the Guardians on Wednesday afternoon 5-3 and took 2 of 3. Dustin May (2-2) pitched 6 innings giving up 6 hits with 1 run, 4 strikeouts, and 1 walk. The start was May’s 2nd quality start of the season. The Cardinals now have 5 quality starts.
Alec Burleson had 2 hits with 2 RBI’s (14). JJ Wetherholt had 2 walks with an RBI (9). Nathan Church had 3 hits with 2 runs and an RBI (6). Pedro Pages had a hit and an RBI (5).
The Cardinals had 3 stolen bases Victor Scott (3), Pages (1), Church (1), and Wetherholt (4). The stolen base was Pages first of his MLB career.
