In one of the most significant trades in St. Louis Battlehawk history, the team has acquired Dallas Renegades quarterback Luis Perez. The move involves Offensive tackle Corey Stewart, who is playing in his first season in the league and has played all four games with the Battlehawks. Perez is considered “The Spring King”  because he’s been a part of multiple playoff teams throughout the years, including a Championship victory with the Renegades in 2023.

” With our current injury situation, it was important to add depth at the quarterback position, and this move accomplishes that,” said Battlehawks Head Coach Ricky Proehl. “We’re fortunate to add a veteran with Luis’ experience to our room. Harrison Frost remains our starter, and we appreciate Corey’s contributions and wish him the best as he steps into an opportunity to start in Dallas.”

The move was needed because the Battlehawks’ other quarterback, Michael Pratt, suffered a rib injury, resulting in his placement on injured reserve, and to add consistency to the quarterback position, which has not been stable. Harrison Frost came in for Brandon Silver, who struggled, and rallied the Battlehawks to victory over the Birmingham Stallions. Frost, who made his first start against the DC Defenders, struggled by completing just 29% of his pass attempts in a loss Saturday afternoon.

The Battlehawks will face the Orlando Storm on Saturday in Florida.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
