LAFC has owned City SC with 5 wins and 2 draws. But with four minutes into the match Tomas Totland scored four minutes into the match while fellow defender Rafael Santos added a second-half goal to help City beat Los Angeles FC for the first time, 2-1 in front of a crowd of some 20,000 fans at Energizer Park on Wednesday Night.

Eduard Löwen and Marcel Hartel assisted on Totland’s first goal of the season, the third time in 55 career appearances. It was also the first assist of the campaign for Löwen and the second for Hartel. City SC led 1-0 in the second half when Rafael Santos extended the lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal in the 64th minute.  It was his first score this season and his fourth in 92 career matches. Santos replaced the injured Jaziel Orozco 10 minutes into the match.

LAFC David Martínez entered the match in the 70th minute and cut the lead to 2-1, but that wasn’t enough as City SC scored their second straight victory over their Western Conference rivals. St. Louis hopes to extend their winning streak as they go on the road to face D.C. United Saturday at 6:30 pm at Audi Field.
