It looked like City SC were about to win their 3rd straight game until the 90th minute when D.C. United’s Joao Peglow scored, salvaging a 1-1 draw with City SC on Saturday in the second-ever meeting between the teams, the first in Washington. The two clubs played to a scoreless draw in the first half, but in the second half, City SC midfielder Chris Durkin, who played for D.C. United from 2016-2023 scored to give his team a 1-0 lead. St. Louis did a good job keeping D.C. from scoring, but sloppy defense and a corner kick that bent out to Peglow, who stopped it with his first touch and then blasted a shot from outside the penalty arc that capped the scoring to make it 1-1 in the 90th minute.

Things started to get worse when Conrad Wallem was shown his second yellow card of the match in the second minute of stoppage time, and City played a man down the rest of the way. In second-half stoppage time, Louis Munteanu scored what appeared to be the game-winning goal for D.C. United, but Lucas Bartlett, who fed Munteanu with a header, was called for offside on the set-piece play after a video review. St. Louis goalie Roman Bürki had four saves while his counterpart, D.C. United goalie Sean Johnson had two saves in the match. St. Louis outshot D.C. United 11-7 but managed only one attempt on target compared to two for D.C. St. Louis.

Next match for City SC will be in a U.S. Open Quarterfinal match against the Houston Dynamo on Tuesday at 7:30 pm, while their next Major League Soccer match is at home against Austin FC next Saturday Night.
