Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice tested positive for THC, according to Dallas County court documents, a violation of his probation for charges related to a multi-car crash in Dallas more than two years ago.
Because he violated probation, he will be ordered to serve 30 days in jail and be released on June 16.
The timeframe of the jail sentence conflicts with the Chiefs OTA offseason workouts (May 26-28 and June 1-3) and mandatory minicamp (June 9-11).
The original plea deal stated he would be on probation for five years and was required to serve 30 days in jail at some point. He was also ordered to pay over $115,000 in restitution to victims for medical expenses.
The 25-year-old missed the first six games of last season after it was found that he had violated the NFL’s personal conduct policy when he caused a multi-car crash on a Dallas highway in March 2024 while driving erratically at speeds nearing 120 mph. Rice left the scene of the accident before police arrived.
Rice finally had turned himself in when an arrest warrant was issued, and he then pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges last July for the collision.
He had 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns last season as Kansas City went 6-11 and missed the playoffs.
