The Cardinals have promoted 1B/3B Blaze Jordan from Triple-A Memphis. Jordan, 23, currently ranks as the Cardinals 25th best prospect. Third baseman Nolan Gorman has been optioned to Memphis along with RHP Hunter Dobbins. To take Dobbins’s spot on the active roster, RHP Chris Roycroft has also been recalled. The Cardinals recalled Roycoft because they needed a fresh arm in the bullpen.

To clear a roster spot for Jordan on the 40-man roster, the Cardinals have transferred third baseman Ramon Urias to the 60-day IL.

Jordan is currently hitting .313 with 37 runs, 72 hits, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 11 home runs, 35 RBI’s, 2 stolen bases, and 19 walks in 2026.

Jordan had his best season in 2025, combined between Double-A Portland, Triple-A Worcester and Triple-A Memphis. That season, Jordan hit .270 with 80 runs, 133 hits, 28 doubles, 2 triples, 19 home runs, 99 RBI’s, 5 stolen bases, and 43 walks. The runs, home runs, and RBI’s were all career highs for Jordan.

Jordan is currently in his 6th minor league season. Jordan has played 545 games with 298 runs, 606 hits, 139 doubles, 9 triples, 73 home runs, 375 RBI’s, 17 stolen bases, 176 walks, and a .286 batting average.

Jordan will bat 8th tonight against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field and wear no.33.

Jordan is better at first base, but the Cardinals could use Jose Fermin or Bryan Torres as a defensive replacement at third base late in games. The Cardinals hope Jordan can provide better offensive production at third base than Gorman has had this season. Gorman going to Memphis could end up helping him.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
