The Cardinals beat the Padres 3-0 on Monday night at Busch Stadium. Dustin May (5-6) pitched 9 innings, allowing 1 hit, 0 runs with 9 strikeouts and 1 walk. The start was May’s (9th) quality start. Overall, the Cardinals now have 25 quality starts. May also picked up his 1st complete game and shutout of his MLB career.

Jimmy Crooks had a double with 2 RBI’s (6). Alec Burleson also had a double with an RBI (52).

Lars Nootbaar and Masyn Winn both had 2 hits with a run scored. Ivan Herrera had a walk and a run scored.

The Cardinals are now 39-31.

The scheduled starting pitchers are Michael King (4-5), 3.46 ERA, 80.2 innings, 72 strikeouts, 32 walks, and a whip of 1.15 vs Andre Pallante (7-4), 3.88 ERA, 69.2 innings, 56 strikeouts, 25 walks, and a whip of 1.26.
