After a month in jail, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been released.

Video from KDFW shows Rice checking out of the Dallas County Jail Tuesday morning before jogging through the door to exit the building, avoiding reporters’ questions as they ran after him.

Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail on May 19 after he tested positive for THC. He will immediately rejoin the Chiefs right before mandatory minicamp begins.

The 26-year-old wide receiver missed the first six games of last season after the NFL found that he had violated its personal conduct policy when he caused a multi-car crash on a Dallas highway in March 2024 while driving erratically at speeds nearing 120 mph.

Rice left the scene of the accident before police arrived, then took responsibility for the wreck in a statement a couple of weeks later.

He also recently underwent knee surgery, though he was allowed to do some rehab work on his knee while he was in jail.

Per multiple reports, the league has shown no inclination to add further punishment on Rice for his probation violation, which is both a relief for him and the Chiefs organization.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
