
Sebastian Berhalter netted the USMNT’s first goal of the night vs. Chile.

It wasn’t pretty in fact there were some sloppy plays that nearly cost team USA but in the end the young energetic players were able to step up under crucial moments of the match and delivered a respectable performance by beating Chile 4-2 in front of a fire 22,000 fans at Energizer Park in downtown St. Louis.
Before the match a ceremony was held for St. Louis Native Tim Ream who announced his retirement for team USA after 86 appearances and two World Cup appearances. The squad made sure to that he got to go out on a high note but Chile had other ideas by taking the lead in the match 2-1 until Julian Hall scored his second goal, with a great header from a Gio Reyna delivery that even the score at 2-2 in the second half.
Then on 72nd minute of the match Chris Richard scored the game winning goal to put team USA ahead 3-2. Winger Mathis Albert became the youngest goal scorer for team USA at age 17 years old breaking Christian Pulisic’s record by scoring the final goal of the match to give his team a 4-2 victory over Chile.
Sebastian Berhalter continued to impress during his 2 game international friendly match with his second straight goal which he converted in the 37th minute of the match to give team USA a 1-0 lead. On a side note team USA are now 11-1-3 in greater St. Louis, and are undefeated at 5-0-0 at Energizer Park. Their next match will be against Mexico in Arizona Saturday Night.
