In a shocking turn of events, Cardinals Hall of Famer Matt Holliday has resigned from his role as bench coach.

Holliday’s decision came down to spending more time with his family, per sources.

Joe McEwing, a former Cardinal, has spent the last 15 years coaching within the White Sox org, most recently as the club’s third base coach (2021-2022). McEwing will take over as bench coach.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates.
