City SC triumphs over Toronto FC 1-0

City SC’s performance against Toronto FC wasn’t pretty but Aziel Jackson pick the right time score the game winning goal on Saturday to earn a 1-0 victory Saturday. Jackson scored on the 50th minute when he took a pass from Akil Watts in the box to score the game winning goal. The best team in the Western Conference, City SC struggled against a team that is in last place in the Eastern Conference and playing with a lineup that included players that were called up from its MLS NextPro Toronto FC 2 team.

Toronto is currently 3-10-9 overall, winless in its last eight games and sits in 14th place. Meanwhile City SC broke Toronto’s five-match winning streak against expansion teams with their victory and joined the Seattle Sounders, New York City FC and LAFC as the only first year clubs to beat Toronto in their home field.

City SC is currently 12-7 on the season and their victory ties for the fifth most by a Major League Soccer expansion team and season is not yet near the halfway point. The team remains in first place in the Western Conference with 38 points which is the most by an expansion team at this point in League history. Their next game for City SC travel to play LAFC on Wednesday Night.
