For the first time since 2012, the National League reigns victorious over the American League.

Craig Kimbrel notched the save as the NL defeated the AL 3-2 in the 2023 All-Star Game in Seattle, Washington. Kimbrel came in to close the ninth inning for the National League, and Wander Franco almost tied the game but his flyball to right field fell just short of going over the wall.

He then struck out Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the winner of the 2023 Home Run Derby, but walked Kyle Tucker to face the hometown star Julio Rodríguez. In an emotional at-bat, Rodriguez was able to draw a walk to bring up Jose Ramirez, but Kimbrel struck him out for the win and end the game.

Colorado Rockies catcher Elias Diaz, a first time All-Star, hit a go ahead two-run homer off Felix Bautista in the eighth inning, his first All-Star Game at-bat.

The American League was also held to their lowest run total (2) since 2017.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
