St. Louis City SC conquered Sporting Kansas City and the season series with a convincing 4-1 victory Saturday. In the first half of the game, it looked like Sporting Kansas City were going to take the lead with they almost scored the first goal of the match but Roman Burk Kept the team alive with several spectacular saves. Then on the 73rd the hottest player in the League Samuel Adeniran opened the scoring in the 73rd minute to give City SC a 1-0. Then the team would add three unanswered goals within 12 minutes led by Jared Stroud in 75th minute of the match. Then the final two goals scored by João Klauss in five minutes of the match. William Agada scored final goal in second half during stoppage time for Sporting KC.
With the victory St. Louis City SC clinched the number 1 playoff spot and the Western Conference crown. They also set a Major League Soccer record for most wins by an expansion club at (17-10-5). It’s not known what the team will do with their starters for the last 2 games of the regular as they prepare for their postseason playoff run. Their next game is Wednesday night in Vancouver against the Whitecaps. Meanwhile, Sporting KC will be fighting for their playoff lives as they take on Real Salt Lake on Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
