City SC offensive whoa’s continued for the second week in a row after Austin FC’s Myrto Uzuni and Osman Bukari combined to score the match’s lone goal of the game to give their team a 1-0 victory in front of a sellout crowd in St. Louis’s Energizer Park. City SC’s Marcel Hartel nearly scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute, but Austin’s goalkeeper Brad Stuver easily stopped the effort. City’s defensive backfield had kept opponents off the scoreboard in the first four matches but last weekend Philadelphia scored early in the 8th minute of the match. Austin scored on its first shot on goal when Myrto Uzuni received a flawless pass from Osman Bukari in the 33rd minute to give their team a 1-0 lead.
Austin nearly made it 2-0 but City SC goalkeeper Ben Lundt made the save to keep the margin at one goal. In the second half, City SC had chances to tie the Marcel with Hartel getting off a shot on goal in the 53rd minute that was saved by Austin Goalkeeper Brad Stuver. The game was delayed in the 68th minute due to thunderstorms in the St. Louis area. City managed just one more shot on goal as the Austin defense closed down the passing lanes and kept the clean sheet intact.
The loss leaves City at 2-2-2 six games into the season. The team has scored four total goals, but three of those came in a 3-0 victory over the LA Galaxy in California on March 9 The other was in a 1-0 win over Seattle on March 15. The team hopes to end their 2 game-losing streak when they go on the road to take on their I-70 rival Sporting Kansas City in Kansas City, Kansas who will be with new coach Kerry Zavagnin.
