The St. Louis Cardinals are looking to right the ship quickly as they finish their seven-game roadtrip in Atlanta to take on the Braves. After winning back-to-back series against quality opponents, the Cardinals got swept at the hands of the high-priced Mets, moving their road record to 1-9 so far in 2025.

The trip concludes on Wednesday, giving the Cardinals (9-13, 4th in NL Central) their first off day on Thursday after a stretch of 13 straight games. The Braves (8-13, 5th in NL East) are getting hot after a slow start, coming off a three-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins, who the Cardinals swept to start the season.
The series starts with Erick Fedde (1-2, 3.43 ERA) taking the mound for the Cardinals, who took a hard luck loss despite a quality start against the Astros. The Braves will counter with youngster Spencer Schwellenbach (1-1, 2.55 ERA). The 24-year-old was hit hard in his last start against the Blue Jays, giving up six runs without completing five innings.
Andre Pallante (2-1, 3.22 ERA) is looking to build off of back-to-back outings where he threw at least six innings while the Braves send Spencer Strider (0-1, 3.60 ERA) to the mound for his second start since undergoing an internal brace procedure on his elbow in 2024.
The final game pins two struggling starters against each other as Miles Mikolas (0-2, 7.64 ERA) will look to bounce back and eat some quality innings after failing to reach the sixth inning so far this season. Bryce Elder (0-1, 7.20 ERA) takes the ball for the Braves and has allowed five homers in his three starts, including two homers in each of the past two starts.
NOTES:
- Masyn Winn is likely to come off of the injured list when first eligible to return on Tuesday. Winn homered twice in a rehab assignment with Memphis.
- Brendan Donovan’s hitting streak ended at 14 games but his .356 average is second in the National League.
