Alton (IL)  The Alton River Dragons’ list of available arms for the 2026 season has grown considerably with the addition of three new pitchers to the roster.  Arkansas State-Mid South right-handed pitcher Diego Johnson,  Milwaukee School of Engineering right-handed pitcher Darren Rosenberg and Southwestern (OR) Community College right-handed pitcher Shinnosuske Sanada has been signed.

From San Antonio, TX, Diego Johnson makes his college debut this spring at Arkansas State-Mid South.  At Harlan High School, he played both corner infield positions in addition to standing out on the mound.

Rosenberg is a freshman at the Milwaukee School of Engineering out of San Leandro, CA. Along with     pitching, he also has experience as a catcher.  During his time in high school, he took advantage of an         opportunity to do an exchange trip to South Africa.

Sanada is a native of Yokohama, Japan who is a sophomore in standing readying for his first season of college baseball in America.  He’ll make his debut with Southwestern Community College in Oregon this spring.

The 2026 River Dragons season begins Tuesday May 26th at Quincy with the home opener slated for Tuesday June 2nd against Dubois County. The 2026 River Dragons will again be led by returning manager Jarrod Brissenden who is actively signing a roster for the upcoming season.  Additional player signings will be made public throughout the winter. In addition, the 2026 promotional schedule and special announcements will be coming in the spring. Lloyd Hopkins Field will again host the NCBA DI and DII World Series in May, preceding the River Dragons season.
