It hasn’t happened since the Ambush returned in 2013…. St. Louis is advancing to the semifinals of the Ron Newman Cup Playoffs!

And not only did they do so in dramatic fashion, but they did it beating their I-70 rival Kansas City Comets.

St. Louis won game one in the series on Monday, blowing them out 9-4, then Kansas City took game two 6-5 on Wednesday night. Per MASL playoff rules, that sets the stage for a dramatic 15-minute knockout game to decide the series.

At the 8-minute mark of the 15-minute Knockout game, Colin O’Keefe scored off a pass from Robert Williamson, giving St. Louis a 1-0 lead, and sending the Family Arena crowd into a frenzy. The Ambush went on a power play in the twelfth minute, and they certainly made the most of the advantage… Christian Briggs beat Neto off a pass from Jeff Michaud, giving the home side a 2-0 lead.

The Ambush won that contest 2-0 and now move on to the next round, where they will take on the top-seated San Diego Sockers.

The Ambush now move on to the semifinal round where they will square off with the San Diego Sockers. Game One of that series is Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:05 p.m. at The Family Arena.
