The Cardinals beat the Cubs 5-1 on Sunday night at Busch Stadium. Matthew Liberatore (3-3) pitched 5.1 innings allowing 3 hits, 0 runs 4 strikeouts, and 1 walk.

Jordan Walker (43), Alec Burleson 2(38), and Masyn Winn 2(20) all had RBI’s.

JJ Wetherholt picked up his (7th) stolen base. Wetherholt also had 2 hits with 2 runs scored walk, and a strikeout. Ivan Herrera had 2 hits with 2 runs scored and a walk.

Hunter Dobbins picked up his (1st) save. The save was Dobbins’s 1st of his MLB career.

The Cardinals are now 31-26.

The Cardinals start a three-game series with the Texas Rangers (Monday-Wednesday).

The scheduled starting pitching matchups are Jacob deGrom (3-4), 3.77 ERA, 59.2 innings, 70 strikeouts, 12 walks, and a whip of 1.01 vs Michael McGreevy (3-4), 2.98 ERA, 60.1 innings, 43 strikeouts, 15 walks, and a whip of 1.09.

Nathan Eovaldi (5-6), 3.93 ERA, 68.2 innings, 67 strikeouts, 16 walks, and a whip of 1.11 vs Dustin May (3-6), 4.57 ERA, 61 innings, 51 strikeouts, 17 walks, and whip of 1.30.

MacKenzie Gore (4-4), 3.96 ERA, 61.1 innings, 65 strikeouts, 27 walks, and a whip of 1.19 vs Andre Pallante (5-4), 4.19 ERA, 58 innings, 46 strikeouts, 21 walks, and a whip of 1.34.
