Alton (IL) Opening the 2026 season with six consecutive road games is now in the past and the Alton River Dragons look ahead to returning to Lloyd Hopkins Field this week to begin the home portion of the schedule. The River Dragons play their first three home games of the season this Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights all at 6:35pm.
“There are lots of benefits to starting the season on the road, including team-bonding, but the players are excited to finally get to play at home and in front of the home fans” said field manager Jarrod Brissenden. “Our team started to connect together over the last few days and I know our fans are going to enjoy watching the way this team plays.”
The home schedule once again features a full slate of innovative theme nights, community partnerships and giveaways all of which are a part of the first week of home games.
Tuesday: 6:35pm vs. Dubois County – Magnetic Schedule Giveaway to the first 250 guests and a postgame fireworks show.
Wednesday: 6:35pm vs. Cape – First Responder Night with all area 1st Responders receiving free admission with ID. The team is also wearing specialty jerseys that are being auctioned during the game with all proceeds being shared be-tween the Alton Fire and Police Department’s respective foundations.
Friday: 6:35pm vs. Cape – Youth Jersey Giveaway Night presented by Midwest Members Credit Union. The first 200 kids ages 12 & under receive a replica River Dragons home jersey.
“Our fans can expect many of their favorite elements of River Dragons home games along with some new wrinkles we are ready to tryout” adds team owner Steve Marso. “I encourage everyone to arrive early so they can get the full experi-ence.”
