The Battlehawks won their third straight game with a 32-17 victory of the Memphis Showboats and improved their record to 3-1. A.J. McCarron was 35-45 for 222 with one interception and three touchdown passes. The Battlehawks running back Jacob Saylors had a big day by rushing for 103 yards and caught a touchdown pass. Jahcour Pearson led the team with 70 yards on 10 receptions. The Battlehawks score 12 unanswered points after leading by field goal at halftime.
Tight End Jack Sutherland had 2 receptions and touchdown catch that sealed the victory for the Battlehawks. The Defensive of the Battlehawks once again came up big by recording 4 1/2 sacks and knocked out starting Showboats Quarterback Case Cookus. The Battlehawks attendance on Saturday drew a crowd of 31,757 after drawing a spring-football record crowd of 40,000-plus two weeks ago.
Up next, the Battlehawks hit the road next weekend for a matchup against the D.C. Defenders for and a battle for first place of the XFL Conference at Audi Field. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
