The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026, with six new members heading into the St. Marys, Ont. establishment.

One of whom is very well known within Cardinal Nation.

Former Redbird manager and current Cardinals first base coach Stubby Clapp has been named as one of the inductees into the canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

“Baseball Canada is proud to announce that Jim Baba, Stubby Clapp and Kate Psota have been named as inductees to the 2026 Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.”

Once a highly routed ballplayer with a standout collegiate career at Texas Tech, Clapp was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 36th round of the 1996 MLB Draft. Clapp became a household name in Canada following his memorable performance at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg.

Clapp transitioned into coaching following his playing days and was part of Canada’s gold-medal performance at the 2015 Pan American Games and was a member of the 2013 World Baseball Classic coaching staff, a post he will return to in 2026.

As a manager, is a two-time Pacific Coast League Manager of the Year (2017 and 2018) and has been the First Base Coach with the St. Louis Cardinals since 2019.
