
A wild fourth quarter performance by Missouri State fell short as the Kennesaw State score with 27 seconds remaining to steal a 41-34 victory over the visiting Bears Saturday in a Conference USA game of the weekend. Missouri State racked up a season best 535 yards while Shomari Lawrence, including a 70-yard touchdown sprint with 5:08 remaining to tie the game 34-34 in the 4th quarter. The Bears had a chance to take the late in the 4th on a 52-yard field goal when they tried to fake it, but the Kennesaw State Owl’s special team was alert a Kicker Yousef Obeid was stuffed for a five-yard loss. Owls took the ball, and it took only 3 plays when Quarterback Amari Odom his Chase Belcher with the game winning 14-yard touchdown pass with 27 seconds left.
Bears Quarterback Jacob Clark was 23 of 32 for 344 yards and 3 touchdown passes, eclipsing 7,000 career yards and breaking a school record for 200 yards with his 20th of his career. While Kennesaw State Quarterback Amari Odom completed 24 of 34 passes for 387 yards and five touchdowns. Bears which trade 14-3 in the first half sacked Owl’s quarterback Amari Odom while the yielding just one sack; the two teams combined 1,035 yards of offense.
Missouri State end their inaugural Football Bowl Subdivision regular season at home against Louisiana Tech at 1:pm.
